 Claudio Laudani

Biografia

Alcuni blog di New York e Los Angeles pubblicano i suoi quadri.

Biography

Claudio Laudani, who is a pure mathematics graduate of the University of Padua with an analysis degree thesis, attended Accademia del ferro of Toni Benetton and later he attended the sculptors Romano and Ruggero Abate's and Sergio Longo's studio. In 2000, taking advantage of his past as expert photographer, he rendered into photography the Renaissance portrait creating a “ fotographic Madona” starting from a model. For the first time, such an image was displayed into a place of worship in Padua.

Becoming acquainted with painting as self-educated person, in 2002 Claudio Laudani is discovered by the Paduan author Giulioto Mozzi, who creates a way of narrating inspired by Laudani's works. In fact he becomes the character of a never published Mozzi's novel called “Il famoso romanzo” which is linked in the most ancient literary blog in Italy: Vibrisse Bollettino.

Following this, the University of Chicago publishes a wide extract of the novel based on Laudani's life and works: “Treatise on Awekening Sentiment”. This is the title of one of his painting and also the key of the namesake novel.

Some blogs in New York and in Los Angeles publish his paintings. Various writers esteem and write about his work among which Umberto Casadei and Vitaliano Trevisan. At one of Laudani's solo exhibit, the latter, who is a collector of the painter's works, reads some unreleased pieces from his novel “Works”, which will be later published by Einaudi.

At the moment the painter is studying the possible unification of the concept of “identification of shape” between art and mathematics.

He dedicates his only similar portrait to the enigmatic person of Giancarlo Martin, who is indicated by someone as the benefactor, stockholder partner of Comas Tobacco Machinery.

In one of his works depicting a Saint Francis in prayer by Caravaggio, Laudani revolutionizes the luminosity of the painting and the concept itself of copy by using Litharge treatmen. This masterpiece is at San Francesco Grande church in Padua, Cappella delle Stimmate, and you can really consider it the highest demonstration of his pictorial talent.
